DEVASTATING NEWS: Live from Fabrizio Romano – Manchester United’s New Signing Leon Out for 6 MONTHS After Suffering ACL Injury in Training.

In a cruel and heartbreaking blow for Manchester United, new summer signing Leon has been ruled out for SIX MONTHS after suffering a serious ACL injury during training, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The news comes as a thunderbolt to both fans and the coaching staff, especially with the new Premier League season yet to even begin. Romano confirmed the injury in a post this morning, reporting live from Carrington where Leon collapsed awkwardly during a non-contact drill and was immediately taken off the pitch.

Initial scans have now confirmed the worst — a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) — meaning the 21-year-old rising star is set to miss the rest of 2025 and possibly won’t return until early 2026.

“Devastating news for Manchester United. New signing Leon has suffered an ACL injury in training. Out for six months. Absolutely not what anyone wanted at this stage,” Fabrizio Romano posted.

Leon, who arrived with much excitement this summer under the new era of Rúben Amorim, was tipped to become a breakout star this season. The coaching staff had been hugely impressed with his performances in pre-season, and many fans believed he would play a key role in the new system.

Instead, his debut campaign has been cruelly cut short before it could even begin.

The mood around Old Trafford is one of shock and heartbreak, with several teammates said to be “gutted” by the incident. Amorim, too, is reportedly devastated by the news, having placed significant faith in Leon as part of his long-term project.

This is not just a setback — it’s a crushing blow to United’s momentum and to a young talent whose rise was just beginning.

We send our thoughts and strength to Leon during his recovery. Football can be cruel.
